PROGRAMA EN INGLÉS
Bucharest International Poetry Festival, 13th edition
This year's theme of Bucharest International Poetry Festival is placed under the well-known paraphrase after Cicero: inter arma silent musae? It is noticeable that we put a big question mark at the end of the Latin saying, convinced that we must plead for the presence of the muses that inspire the arts and free speech even in today's troubled and difficult times, with a war that can be heard on the border of our country, in a Europe that arms itself more and more with shells and less and less with books.

“Poetry will save the world”
Under the title “Poetry will save the world”, some of the texts of Alexandra Svet and the director Toma Enache turned into a performance. The musical interventions belong to the pianist Alexandru Mihai Burcă and the cellist Valentin Simion. The title of this event is a Dostoevsky certainty. Such certainty, today, could once again become the ideal weapon against the uglyness, against hopelessness. Poetry has certainly saved the world before and will continue to save it.
